Pre-Girls Camp Certification

Because we wouldn't have a whole lot of time up at Girls Camp, we decided to do a number of nights with certifying the girls- One night we certified them on Fires, Campfire Food, CPR and First Aid, etc. This was one of those days where we had those girls who could come, come for a Flag Ceremony & Hike to Ensign Peak in SLC.

I asked freshly returned Servicemen, Reggie Garrett come and talk to the girls about the American Flag, and some of his reasons to serve. Then we had the 2nd Year girls (Bailey's age girls) conduct the Flag Ceremony.





This was very moving. After listening to the American Anthem via a cd player & with the help of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir we then said the Pledge of Allegiance.

After the Flag Ceremony we headed up to Ensign Peak in Salt Lake City. It's only about .86 miles of trail, but it was a nice hike and had a Beautiful overlook of the Salt Lake Valley.
