* giRL's cAmP 2010 *

I had the honor of going to Girls Camp this year, right along the side of Bailey. Early Monday morning we headed up, and by 10 am we arrived at Heber Valley Girls Camp, in the mountains of Heber City, Utah. Here is a pic of when we FIRST arrived- you can tell a difference if you looked closely at the before and AFTER pics. ;0)

Our theme for Camp was, "The Wizard of Oz" and how the Yellow brick road/the Iron Rod will lead us to that Emerald City/Heaven/Temple, etc. It was FUN to get on board with this throughout our devotionals, hikes, etc.

Right after arriving, we unpacked the trailer & trucks that brought our supplies up then soon after the girls were ANXIOUS to KNOW WHO their "families" would be & WHO would be in their cabins. So they had the girls stand in a circle, close their eyes and we handed them a colored bandanna & when they opened their eyes they'd see who they'd be with.

We did the Canoes, Paddle boats, singing a hymn, and a few moments of silence on the lake to look around at the BEAUTY Heavenly Father created for Me! (and You!)

There was a LOT of hair braiding/hair wrap and bracelet tying over the course of 4 days- Here is Morgan Daniels doing Bailey's hair wrap.

You know, you get so involved I forget to take pics- SO GLAD I have this ONE! of Bailey and me.

We did the NORM...we went on hikes,

had Devotionals by our leaders,

and had a FUN night of Skits we ALL put on...yes, even the leaders had one!

and let's NOT FORGET the music and camp songs!

And then there was the "Challenge Course". This was the course I was to oversee, it was really neat to watch the girls and to see HOW they come to figure it out and who does, then How they work together to make it happen. It was called the "Muse", why?, I have NO IDEA, they didn't know either but how it worked was they would only have 4 same sized logs that they would have to use to get on one of the few stumps out of the ground, that would help them get to the other side without touching the ground. By placing the log down, or overlapping it, reusing it, etc. It was so awesome to see the "light bulb" come on and how they'd come together & make it work. Then I would ask them how you had to rely, lean on others. How much you NEED your FAMILY, Friends, Heavenly Father, etc.
