Madi's 6th grade Valentine's Day Dance

At Alpine Elementary they have an annual 6th grade Valentine's Day Dance and this year is Madi's year- So we made sure to take a few pictures before she headed off to school. Beginning in December the 6th grade teachers teach the boys & girls a number of different dances and talk about respecting others, and dance etiquette, ie; escorting to the floor, tapping in, escorting them back, and making sure they dance with EVERYONE & no one is left out. The dances they learned were the Waltz, Swing, Electric Slide, Cha-cha, Cowboy Line Dancing. Its a lot of FUN and they learn something too-

On Valentine's Day they invite the parents to come watch, participate & dance with their student. Because Mike had just started his new job with Richmond American Homes just a few days before this he was unable to make it to the dance, so we asked Grandpa Paskett to come and dance with Madi.

The stage stairs in the gym is where they had the kids pick up and drop off their dance partners.

The only chance I had to take a picture of the dessert table was at the beginning of the dance, but eventually this table was LOADED up with drinks, snacks, cookies, etc. for the kids to snack on-

Grandpa Paskett asking Madi to dance...and her telling Grandpa that the song that was playing wasn't one she was supposed to dance with family on, but he couldn't HEAR her, so she went anyway :0)

Grateful for a Grandpa that fill's in for us whenever we need him

When Rachel found out that the Valentine's Day Dance was still happening at her old school, she decided to come up & surprise Madi with bringing Mo! But Mo wasn't too sure of the whole "tons of kids & people and loud music" thing going on-

So we took her outside & she wanted Madi's cupcake, so Madi gave in and let her have it

And I think she LIKED the frosting, just a little bit

Each time this one cute 6th grade boy asked a girl he had this performance that he did, then he asked Madi to dance. He would do this little turn, dip and came back around with a flower that his his mom had placed in his back pocket. He must've rehearsed it and everything because he was so smooth at it-
And this is the cute post that Madi had placed on Instagram the following day-
