Alpine North Stake Girl's Camp

This years Girls Camp was put on by the Alpine North Stake up at Mutual Dell in American Fork Canyon. It was the week after school got out and it had been an unusually warm & not-so wet winter. But from everything that Sister Andrea Bishop (Girls Camp Leader) had read in the "Farmer's Almanac" it said that this particular week was going to be WET and rainy. So we prepared for it, but it didn't happen- which was GOOD! The weather was nice and warm but not too HOT. 

Because we had just started Bailey off in her new Soccer Club (Dynamo) she had some practices, and a Lone Peak HS Soccer Camp that she had signed up for & wanted to go to for most of the week. So I had ended up not going up with the rest of the YW and waited for Bailey's morning session to get over before we headed up to Girls Camp. 

Just after we got there, around 12:30 or so we headed with the rest of our YW group to the Zip Line for an hour or so. It was a little difficult to get Bailey to go, but with a little help from the other YW & leaders, she did go. And she was adorable in the gear, I might add-

 

And there she goes...my little camera wasn't fast enough to take one after another action shots, but you get the idea. And the scenery was Beautiful!

Uncle Ralph was one of two Priesthood holders who came but the only one who wanted to come to the Zip line with us and participate. He was so cute and said he had done this 20 years previous up in Park City but hadn't done it since then.

He was so cute & brave- After he took off he let go of the ropes, hung upside down and was just kicking his legs & having a GOOD time!

Back at camp, sitting back chilling, visiting and relaxing

Uncle Ralph (or Grandpa Garrett) is what he prefers all the girls to call him- He said in his testimony after Girls Camp that he has "20 New LOVES in his life" that he was Blessed with after Aunt Alta passed.

This was a FUN activity that the Stake put together for each of the wards to do for one another & leave as a Secret Service .

Bailey & Liz, Bailey's cute friend from the Cove Ward were able to meet up for a couple of the activities. 

This was a FUN night were we had one of the girls start a "story" then they stopped and let the person next to them take their story from there, and so on and so on. It was a lot of FUN and it was a whole lot better than telling GHOST stories...we were worried we'd have some of the younger girls in our leaders tent if we did that.

On this morning Andrea and I were busy helping with breakfast, when she walked out from underneath the blue tarped kitchen that Matt her husband had so kindly built for us. When she THOUGHT someone had thrown an egg at her and realized it wasn't an egg at ALL- a bird had POOPED on her. I made her stay still & stay where she was until I could get my camera out to "capture the moment"! She said she thought she was going to be SICK- It was a moment that every girl, leader and priesthood leader will remember!
