THe GiLLeTT FaMiLY: June 2023

First Saturday of every month CARS n' COFFEE is put on in different locations, but its mostly been out a Young Living in Lehi- so we try to go out.

Mike & Tanner's 1st Cars n' Coffee with these two cars & Mike's car was a HiT!

Tanner was in ISS Contest for BEST Car again this year! Last year he made it to the Final 8-

Our poor tree, after 25 years I think we need a new one...

Mike's been working really hard getting all his parts put on his car & taking his time getting it done.

Mike had some dental work done that he's been needing for more than a year. A root canal, cavities, & then he had a piece of a tooth get lodged into his gums that got infected so he had to get some antibiotic & medicine to take care of it. Poor guy!

Tanner made it to the Sweet 16!

Then to FINAL 8!

Uncle Carl passed away & left a GREAT Legacy behind!

Lennar had Lagoon Day one Saturday so we went on ONE RIDE after having lunch...the SKY RIDE!

Tanner made it to the FINAL 4!

Tanner FINALLY got his personalized license plates *WANKLD*

Mike got his a few days later...MAZDA 3 & WANKEL!

Then on Father's Day Sunday was the ONE CAR SHOW Mike was & has been LOOKING FORWARD to every year but especially THIS YEAR because he had his RX2! So we met Tanner out in Lehi & was going to caravan up to the show in Taylorsville.

On our way up there, Mike's car started to rattle a little, and soon after Tanner's car started acting weird for him. Then it shut off as he was driving in Draper, so he coasted off 123rd South, & tried to get as far as he could coasting to a safe spot to check out his car. Which happened to be off 123rd South on the West side across from 7-11 & in a bank parking lot.

We weren't sure WHAT it was, out of gas?, computer?, something else etc. so he decided to call a tow truck- but after the tow truck came, the tow service guy didn't want to do it because Tanner's car is SOOO LOW to the ground, etc.

So unfortunately we NEVER made it to the show- we spend all of Sunday getting Tanner's car loaded back into Mike's trailer & towing it home.

The following Sunday was ISS Car Show where Tanner's car made it to the FINAL 2!!!

Mike & Tanner both had reserved garage spot, so being there first thing they asked if they could park their cars NEXT to each other? They said Yes, so it worked out GREAT!

Final 2!

The WORST thing happened while on our way out to Tooele as we were traveling- one of the cabinet doors in the trailer opened up and some of the contents fell out & onto the RX2!!! We knew it wouldn't be GOOD when we opened up the trailer & saw stuff all over the floor. We took the car cover off & saw the DAMAGE!!! It was SOOOOO SAD!!! I still can't believe it happened!

It was a GREAT day, other than that- Mike really tried to make the BEST out of the Day!

Mike had so many questions & people stopping, asking etc about the car-

The award show started & they were naming off Cars & who took 1st place in their category- When they got to Favorite Mazda 99' & older they called Mike's name! He WON!!! But they misplaced the award, so they said once they find it, they'll call him out again-

Then they FOUND the award so they announced his name again-

Mike felt so bad because he feels like since Tanner didn't win the Overall, they would've given the award to Tanner- but Mike won it.So he felt really bad!
