LP- Preseason Soccer game vs West Jordan

When looking at these two pictures that I'm writing in between I MUST share a little something that is on my mind.

Yes, we all KNOW that Tanner is Matt's nephew. Yes, Tanner is coached by Matt (& Blaine Hale) Yes, you may have said to yourself, "Oh, Tanner only got his position because of Matt being his uncle." Well, let me just say...Tanner has & continues to work VERY HARD everyday in training, conditioning & throughout the year. He plays Indoor or Futsal to stay in shape during the off season. He does his soccer homework that is given to him by his coaches. A few years back Tanner trained with Uncle Matt down at the park in Matt's spare time, while we paid Matt to help him train. When this past week Tanner wasn't playing to his FULL potential &/or got frustrated with an opposing player & took some of that frustration out on that player- Tanner was pulled out of the game & benched, just like ANYONE else would've. Mike & I respect those qualities in both Matt & Blaine (Tanner's Club Coach/ HS Varsity Coach). YES, its been tough on Tanner & its been a HARD couple of days on him, but to THINK that Tanner gets ANY favoritism...YOU ARE MISTAKEN!!! 

I must now add that to have these two GREAT men (Matt Paskett & Blaine Hale) be someone that Tanner looks up to & has as a MENTOR in his life- We feel deeply Blessed and Grateful for them in his life, especially during these teenage years he is currently going through. Enough said...       

Tanner played a little bit in the 2nd half of Varsity in this game, but then was pulled and sat out for the rest of the game, but then he played a lot of the JV game to try and get his "Game" back on-
