Thanksgiving 2012- ND & St. George

 - NORTH DAKOTA with the Nunley Family -
So for Thanksgiving Tanner was invited to head up to ND while the rest of the family headed down to St. George for Bailey's Soccer tournament. But first off Tanner was driven to the airport by Grandma P at 4 o'clock in the AM. the night before I had asked Tanner if he had everything! Ticket, or paperwork, $$$, wallet, ID, etc. etc. etc. He wasn't up when he was supposed to be that morning so I went and got him up...asked him if he had everything & for the HUNDREDTH time he said "YES!" When just an hour later I receive a phone call from him that he forgot the paper tix!  @#*%!  Oh, Well- it all ended up working out OK but I sure felt bad for Gma! lil' TURKEY!!!!

It does look like he had a GOOD time & ate "Well" he said.He even ran in their ND Turkey 5k trot in COLD, COLD & Windy weather!

On our drive down to St. George on Tuesday right after school, we got home just in time to put a few bags in the car and head out to pick up Madi at 3:30. BUT then had to head home because Mike's stomach started to turn & needed to use the potty. So we finally ended up leaving about 4 pm. We tried to make it to the yummy Cheese Factory in Beaver, Utah by 6 pm but made it there just a few minutes after 6 and they had closed up shop and were cleaning up, headed for home. So disappointingly had to turn around and get right back in the car and make the rest of the trip to St. George
We made it there just after 8pm, stopped at Cafe Rio picked up some take out and headed to the condo Mike's parents were kind enough to let us use for the weekend. YeaH!!!
This is our view out our patio door from the condo Wednesday morning. Mike and I decided to see if we could get in a session at the St. George Temple before they closed early for the Thanksgiving holiday. Last session was at 11 am, but we arrived at a few minutes after 9am. Checked in, rented our clothing and headed into a BUSY session. We've never been inside this temple and was Beautiful!!! The chapel was pretty small compared to the Mtn Timp & Draper Temples. But beautiful in its own rights- Then you had to move from Ordinance room to where the veils were. I had never done that either. It was a little less spacious to move around as you have to move some & get up & down some. Just different is all, but still so peaceful & BEAUTIFUL! And to know that some of the Founding Fathers came to that Temple and asked for their work to be done- SPECIAL place! What an incredible morning that was- Then after going to the temple we made a quick stop at the grocery store for a few items then Mike headed into the condo & I headed over to the Check in desk when I had stopped at the car I saw this BUGGER!!! and took a picture, gave Mike the bad news via text and headed back to the condo. During our drive down the night before we had run over something that made a sound but didn't feel like it did much, etc. which THIS could have been what we felt-

So while I took the girls swimming, Mike took the car over to Big O Tire to get 2 new tires because you can't fix a tire with where the headless nail entered in the tire, near the sidewall. So we had to replace 2 tires because you don't just replace one because of the tread. And we wanted the tire fixed before Thursday aka Thanksgiving Day when shops would be closed. SO, Mike was there while I had the girls out swimming, then Kelly, Cory, Garrett & Averie came over to swim. Just a few minutes of visiting with Cory and then he & G took off to go to Big O Tire to visit Mike over there.

Then Kelly & Averie had to go so they could meet Cory and Garrett to go with some friends to a movie. And then the girls & I had to go in to meet a computer programer back at the condo, that was trying to fix our wireless internet. Then while the programmer guy was there, Mike came home but had to help him so I didn't have a chance to speak with him. But when the guy left Mike told me that while he was at Big O Tire when he went to pay the bill, the CS rep told him that his bill was already taken care of. That when Cory had come to talk to Mike, he spoke with him for a few minutes then said that he needed to use the restroom, went in and paid the bill without Mike knowing- What a BLESSING and a GIFT from the Powell family!

We had a couple of gift cards to Outback Steakhouse that Mike had received from Christmas of 2011 from a sub or something so we headed over there Wednesday night.

This is a picture from our back patio deck at the ORE condo. The resorts golf course in the foreground.
For Thanksgiving we met Scott, Michelle and Megan at Black Bear Diner and had dinner there. Pancakes of course for me and the girls, and for Mike he also had a breakfast menu item but it wasn't pancakes. Afterward we took Megan home with us to swim at the condo while Scott & Michelle went to a movie.
Then first thing Friday morning instead of going Black Friday Shopping we had Bailey's first soccer game then went back to the condo, dropped off Mike and the girls and I got dressed and headed over to temple to do Baptisms for the Dead. Little did we know that it was going to be the temple's BUSIEST day they've ever had  that morning!!! It took us almost almost 3 hours from beginning to the end. But well worth the wait. It was Madi's first time doing Baptisms for the Dead. So proud of her for being so patient, for so long- BOTH the girls!

Yes, there was even time for Bailey to do some reading!

Here's the line up for DYNAMO,
if you'll notice her new team plays her old team- Utah Glory, with Coach Ben! And DYNAMO kicked their butts...both times. Bailey scored in the first game against them too & she said it felt good to score against them. :0)

If you can see, those blue and red dots on the "D" are Megan and Madi, having fun & getting ready to slid down the "D"

The last game, the girls WON all their games but this one they tied but because they had already won them, they WON the tournament!!! Dynamo 35 points vs Illusions 25 points

Madi and I TRIED to feed the birds our leftover bread, but WE got chased off the golf course by the maintenance crew worker.
