Spring Break 2012

For Spring Break this year we weren't sure if we'd have any time off from HS Soccer, because last year we were asked to stick around during Spring Break because we had 2 games. Well this year they told us in mid-March that we would have time off for Spring Break and didn't have any games scheduled during it. So we talked about going to Arizona with Gma Paskett, then talked about heading south to St. George, but then decided to just hang out here at home, enjoy the time off & not spend the $$$, if we didn't need too.

Monday, I had my car in the shop all day so we didn't get around to doing much at all, but it was nice for the kids to just be LAZY. Tanner has had Soccer practice from 9-10:30 or so each morning, but he had run me down to the Mazda dealer Monday and then back down again later to pick it up. We did end up renting "We Bought a Zoo" and watched this movie, had popcorn and some treats Monday evening with Mike.

Tuesday morning around 10:30 am the girls, Gma Paskett and I headed up to Park City to do some shopping at the Outlets. We had a good day, and got a little bit of shopping done while we were there. I sang & danced to Michael Jackson when it was playing overhead in one of the outlet stores, YOU KNOW the girls LOVED that! ;0) We had lunch at Mrs. Field's, where they have pretzels, sandwiches and then topped it off with getting some yummy cookies to go. We spent the day up there, not thinking we'd be that long but ended up getting home just before Mike got home around 5pm.

Wednesday, Madi and I went down to "Wood Connection" and picked a project for each of us girls to work on. Then later, Madi went over to Gma Paskett's and made pizza for dinner with her just before heading to Activity Days at 4 pm. Mike was having to work late so Bailey, Madi and I went to the movie, "The Vow" down at the Watergarden's. Got home about a half an hour before Mike got home, he was working late on a presentation. Tanner has been hanging out mostly at the Vawdrey's and with other friends if he's not a practice.

Thursday morning, Tanner ended up sleeping through soccer practice because he was pretty sore. Once he woke up he asked if we could go somewhere for breakfast, so we ended up heading over to Kneader's and having their French Toast breakfast, that is really yummy! And so far this afternoon we've been lounging around enjoying a overcast rainy day. Trying to decide to start on our wood project or maybe go to another movie- We ended up painting our wood projects & then went to dinner at Pizza Pie Cafe, just us girls.

Friday we headed up to Mike's work and took him to lunch at Fashion Place Mall, so everyone could get what they wanted to eat. We enjoyed our lunch, laughed about Dad & his complaining about HOW FAR out we had to park to get a bite to eat at the mall. First it started at a hike from Alpine, then 2 miles, and then 15 miles, etc. Then while we were shopping at the mall, Mike text Bailey & I about how he just got to his car, & how SICK it made him to walk that far, etc. So we now have a joke about how far out we park from everything, etc. Bailey & Madi sure get a kick out of it-

We had been shopping/looking for clothes for our "Gillett Family" pictures, and hadn't found ANYTHING with the colors that they asked us to choose from. Purple or Pink for the girls & gray for boys- well, Purple was OUT for Bailey so we tried keeping our eyes open for us 3 girls that was the same shade of pink. NO LUCK on shirts but I think we figured it out, finally- ugh!

After shopping we headed over to Gardner's Village where I had told Madi we'd go after shopping so she could feed the ducks, geese & birds. Bailey & Madi both had a loaf of old bread and fed the animals, on a side note they even shared their bread with some other kids that were there. I was proud that they did & I didn't have to ask them.

Friday evening we headed to Bailey's game in Lehi. They WON 9 to 1, a complete Blow out! And while we watched Bailey's game, Madi skipped rocks at the park's pond.

Then we had a game for Bailey first thing Saturday morning. They tied that game 2 to 2. We lounged around Saturday, did a few errands then Mike, Bailey and I went to dinner at the Olive Garden. Madi was with Emma Bikman & her family swimming. Then we got home just in time for the ReAL SL Soccer game vs. Sporting KC (1st in West & East divisions). It was a GOOD and intense game but Sporting KC came out on top 1 to 0.

It was a fun, yet relaxing Spring Break. By Sunday evening the kids weren't ready to go back to school Monday & I WASN'T ready to send them back. Now back to busy schedules, soccer, school, projects, Prom, team lunches, etc.

Wow. Sorry about the color scheme for family pics. You can wear whatever. Not a big deal, just thought it would be fun to have some pop of color. Didn't realize it would be such a headache.
